Off-site spray in a climate-controlled booth eliminates the worst of the summer complications entirely, and for a 40+ door EDH project, off-site is almost always the better approach regardless of season.

Early fall (September through October) after the heat breaks is equally good. Winter work is fine — EDH doesn't get the marine fog and sustained humidity that complicates Bay Area winter schedules, and overnight temps stay above the threshold for normal enamel cure.

Door and drawer count is the primary driver, and EDH kitchens regularly run at the high end of what we see — 35–55 pieces in larger Serrano-area homes. Custom and semi-custom door profiles with raised panels or detailed edges take more care and time during spray than flat-slab MDF. The substrate matters: solid-wood raised panel needs more deglossing and spot-filling prep than MDF shaker. Color change from stained wood to painted adds a shellac stain-block step. Glass inserts, decorative hardware replacement, and whether the scope includes a butler's pantry or built-in desk area all affect the final count.

Serrano is the largest gated community in EDH — custom and semi-custom construction from the early 2000s through mid-2010s, with larger open-plan kitchens, island and pantry setups, and raised-panel or full-overlay shaker cabinet styles in 40–55 door configurations.
